We are a Lifestyle Store

The French Mix in McKinney

The French Mix, a hip specialty store on the SE corner of Louisiana and Tennessee in the historic district of downtown McKinney, brings a unique collection of beautiful furnishings for the home-decorating enthusiast together with a trendy boutique. One step inside and you might wish you could spend a weekend here. Its a beautiful example of the newest trend in retail today—The Lifestyle Store. The French Mix had its beginnings in Spiritual Garden, which Laura Vogel brought to life in 2002 with the help of her husband and business partner, Eric.

Now in a new location at 200 E. Louisiana, The French Mix is based on what they learned in the previous location, changing emphasis and bringing new, unique lines to McKinney. Laura is upbeat about the changes in their business and the direction in which they are headed. Their furniture specialty is French and they cater to the sophisticated buyer.

Laura Vogel, owner of The French Mix

“The French are a vivacious and life-loving people with a special appreciation for all that is beautiful. We import AGR Reeditions from Paris and represent the entire line of 550 pieces to the trade. Each piece is custom ordered in one of over 35 different finishes. We immediately began taking orders on these pieces within minutes of receiving our first shipment and having it on the showroom floor.

“We know that when people see the quality and the attention to detail given to each beautiful design, these Paris pieces will be hard to resist. And there's nothing else on the market today that can compare with the finish, availability, and exceptional value.

“The French Mix embodies my philosophy of life. Simply put, life is meant to be enjoyed. Its important to surround ourselves with beauty since our environment is closely linked to our outlook on life.”

Speaking Engagements

“I have devoted a great deal of time to studying the development of French furniture during the 18th century—Louis XIV, XV, and XVI. I now have a presentation that I love to give which describes the fascinating relationship among social conditions, court status, and the evolution of French Furniture design leading up to the French Revolution in 1789. This has been well received by Womens' groups, and if you'd like to learn more about it, please contact me.
